There is groupthink for sure, but also I think folks feel bad about making fun of Biden, he's sort of a "nice clueless grandpa" type. Whereas Trump invites comedy because he seems like a "bully/douchebag/***hole" type.
Yeah I agree that probably plays a role too. I'm not expecting necessarily the same amount/level of ripping of Biden as Trump -- the fact that there are so few attempts to lampoon him is what has me shaking my head. Also, George W. Bush was nice and clueless and he was the subject of endless ridicule.
