"I think we need to raise women to believe that they are allowed to take up space, that they’re allowed to be leaders. "--Wilde.

There's the problem, right there. It never occurs to a real leader that they need permission. If a person thinks they need permission to be a leader, it is the person from whom they seek permission who is the actual leader.

Hence, Pelosi is a real, albeit horrific leader, while AOC is not. Wilde, I have no idea. I know little about her.

"If a person thinks they need permission to be a leader, it is the person from whom they seek permission who is the actual leader." Yes indeed, and choosing to no little about OW was a wise move.

You can't blame Olivia, she's just mindlessly mouthing the sacred dogma of liberal arts and culture that was created around 1968 and that was stale before she was born.

It goes more or less:

Because my group [usually but not always women/blacks/gays] was the victim of historical oppression, it means just our simple presence demands respect and obedience, we must be moved to the front of every line, and all our stories are stunning, brave, brilliant and necessary to make the world a better place and to raise the self-esteem levels of sad children (now the first purpose of all culture).

This self-flattering victim-mongering merger of politics, culture and therapeutic self-help is why every book, movie and Dem Party speech now sounds the same, is the same, and why their creators need to pretend that America is still trapped in the 1950s. You can't be a radical liberator if there are no oppressors, even if you have to invent them or resurrect them from the grave.

But as a much wiser Wilde said a long time ago:

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their life a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

Yes, I prefer the Wilde you quote! And good point here, this crew is nothing if not tedious: "This self-flattering victim-mongering merger of politics, culture and therapeutic self-help is why every book, movie and Dem Party speech now sounds the same, is the same, and why their creators need to pretend that America is still trapped in the 1950s."
