I had no idea someone made a film about Kelo. It's in my queue right now!
And yes, Hollywood has become conformist...and quite boring. I just read that the new Perry Mason series, dark in visuals and dark in theme, will be about racist police practices against two "Latinx" men. This has become a cliche.
Interesting about Perry Mason, but I can't say I'm surprised. I wonder how long these types of cliches will last. Seems like at some point it would hit publishers and distributors in the wallet. Hope you enjoy Little Pink House!
Watched it yesterday. Loved it! One of the justices I think commented on how wrong the decision was, in retrospect. Also I wondered if Susette ever got adequately compensated for all her losses, and also what she's doing now.
Oh, I'm so happy to hear that! The Kelo decision was widely despised by Americans, but as you saw Susette's bravery unleashed a lot of statewide reforms. Susette did get compensated, but not adequately. My wife (the director) and I have become good friends with Susette. She's now living a quiet life and teaching nursing.
Yes, but too bad most monoculture organizations don't seem to regard groupthink as a bad thing! And I see the same dynamic you describe in the film world, where the opinion of the group appears to be more uniform than it actually is.

Bring on the “Mash” reruns.
Ha! Alan Alda would probably cancel himself.

"They have diverse reasons for thinking anyone who disagrees with them is a racist." And here I am complaining about the lack of viewpoint diversity!
